Wishing you all a Merry Christmas for the season. Summer has been a little late this year with cooler weather and the rain, but there is talk of a heatwave towards the end of the month.
Summer also marks celebrations and indulgence - and here at Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill we are celebrating with the abundance of fresh seafood.
We are all enjoying the plump succulent oysters from Mahurangi, fresh live crayfish from the South Island, Coromandel mussels and Ora King Salmon from Marlborough.
To top off all this freshness, we are pleased to announce our partnership with the prestigious G.H. Mumm as our house champagne for the coming year.
Early this month Harbourside were awarded with the highest culinary standard in the New Zealand Beef and Lamb Excellence Awards for 2016, and in late October our Head Chef Thomas Barta won 'Best Dish NZ' at the Ōra King awards. These achievements for our restaurant are fitting for celebration during this festive season.
You will all be able to sample Thomas Barta's winning dish during Waitangi Weekend on Sunday 7th February here at the restaurant at the "Flavours of the Sea" long lunch event. Details of this event can be found below, and details can be obtained from our website as well.
WE are CLOSED on Christmas Day only and re-open on Boxing Day for lunch and dinner, and will stay open right throughout the year.
This New Years Eve, you will want to be at Harbourside, on the deck relishing in the sun with a glass or two of our Mumm champagne or better still with those juicy oysters.
